Barker-Mill Foundation injects funding into local community events

The Barker-Mill Foundation (BMF) has injected funding into two local community events.

£1,000 has been donated to the New Milton Jubilee Fund to support the development of a new Race Results System for the biannual New Milton Pedal Car Grand Prix. The race, which is held during the New Milton Town Show on Sunday 14th July 2019, required components to help build a new modern information system to provide race results including time per lap and track positioning.

The fun charitable event will involve over 40 individual and unique pedal cars of all shapes and sizes, racing around the town centre of New Milton for two hours and is expected to draw crowds from the local area and beyond.

The second community event to benefit from a donation from the BMF is the Marchwood Fete, taking place Saturday 6th July 2019. £590 has been donated to sponsor steel band, Panatical to play during the day and complement this year’s theme, tropical islands.

Aimed at providing great entertainment and fun for all the family, as well as a platform for charities to raise funds to benefit residents in the local area, the day will include a host of stallholders, entertainment, activities, food and drink from local suppliers and three different competitions.

Tim Jobling, Trustee at the Barker-Mill Foundation said: “Community events are so important to bring local people together and raise funds for good causes. We were delighted to contribute to help make them a reality as without local sponsors and volunteers these events would probably not go ahead.”
