The Club was founded in 1953 to provide a centre for people in their 60s and above to meet for social and recreational activities. Over 300 locals enjoy the activities provided by the club on a daily basis, but recently the location where they meet no longer has heating, which can be a problem during the winter months.
To help the club fix this problem Barker-Mill Foundation has donated £1,500 towards replacing their gas hot water heating system. By fixing this the members can continue to enjoy their meets and activities all throughout the year.
